End of Summer

Well summer is almost officially over. The kids have to go back to school a week from Monday. Teachers get to go back tomorrow. I thought I would post a little of what we did this summer.
1. Tyler and Katie were able to go on a pioneer trek from Williams to Flagstaff. They both had a good time and learned a little what our forefathers had to do for us.
2. Noelle logged in almost 40 hours of reading for the summer reading program at the library.
3. Jason officially opened the Fallis Vocal Studio and now has 5 students.
4. I enjoyed my kids, read some good books, and relaxed. All good things a teacher should do over the summer.
I am excited because I get to have my own classroom. In years past I have always taught in the library. I have my room decorated in red, white, and blue. I think we need to become as Americans more patriotic. That does not mean I agree with President Obama because that is the farthest thing from the truth. I think a little patriotism would go along way.

Tyler's Eagle Project Photos

Eagle Project

Well we have almost completed Tyler's project. It looks very nice and we have addded some pictures so you can see the progess we have made. The last thing to do is to add the numbers and lettering to the courts. I have to make an appointment to get into the school grounds so
Tyler can get this done. I would like to thank everyone that helped. I am so
happy that my dad could come down and help from Nevada.

We can't wait!!!

Do you ever feel like you are waiting for life to happen or do you feel like you are always running to keep up? I have felt a little of both lately. I feel like we are always waiting for the other shoe to drop. Noelle broke her foot four weeks ago tomorrow. I asked the doctor if I could have a punch card and he said to me, "Flo this is why people think you are so funny." I explained I was not trying to be funny. I guess the Fallis family is helping the country get the economy going one foot doctor at a time. Noelle got her second cast on Friday and we have blinged it out. It looks nice and if I knew how to get pictures onto the blog I would show everyone.

Grandpa Fallis looks like he is healing from his kidney surgery. His scar is looking much better. Noelle is happy his stomach no longer looks like Frankenstein. He is still tired but this is normal. Grandma Fallis was able to have her eye surgery so she can now see better than me. I am jealous that she no longer needs glasses.

Our big news is Tyler has set a date for his Eagle project. He will be doing his project the day before Mother's Day. I think that will be the best gift ever. It will be nice to have this project off of our to do list. Katie is getting ready for her dance recital. She has also going to be inducted into the National Jr. Honor Society in a few weeks. She has the brains of her father.

I am waiting for summer break from school. We have 8 weeks left so it will be a while. In the mean time I will look forward to small things. No cast for Noelle, Tyler's Eagle project, Katie and the dance recital, Star Trek and X-Men movies. Thank goodness Harry Potter will be soon also.

Can we breathe yet?

We are at the end of the longest three weeks of our marriage. On my birthday Jason’s dad found out he had Kidney Cancer. On Tuesday he had his kidney removed. We found out yesterday that the kidney had not spread to the lymphoid. The outlook is good but not great. The cancer doctor is going to meet with Jason and his parents today to see what kind of treatment they will need to use on Larry. The tumor was sitting on the Renal Gland and on the wall of the Kidney. This means that it could have spread because of the gland and the fat that sits in your body. Larry looks good and should come home from the hospital tomorrow. Jason was lucky enough to see the cut and his exact words were, “Boy that was a big cut.” We are hoping that Larry feels better and will mend quickly.

Thank you for all of your thoughts, prayers, and the fasting that was done in our behalf. I have gained a bigger testimony in the power of prayer. I have also found out that we need to remember what is important. It is easy to get bogged down with the day-to-day stuff but it is wonderful that we can take the time to smell the roses. The blessing in this trial is our family and friends all over have done what they can do to lessen our burden. I would like to end with a quote from one of Jason’s good friends. “With a strong family as well as a strong faith will carry you through this time.” I would like to add a strong group of friends. Thank you all and we will keep you updated.

A New Year

I can’t believe that the New Year is already here. The Fallis family has had a big 2008. We bought our first home, got a new puppy, Tyler started high school, Katie started junior high school, and Noelle ended up in her mom’s first grade reading class. Jason was able to work part time for City Center Entertainment and also for Grace Arts Live. I was able to have two bum feet that are now on the mend. We as a family were able to help Grandma and Grandpa Fallis move to Lake Havasu. We also saw two additions to the Philpot family with Landon and Kaden.

As I think ahead at 2009 I realize that it means turning 39 years old. YIKES!!! I am also looking forward to some good things. I thought I would make a list. These are not in any order

1. Thanksgiving with the Philpot Family
2. Tyler earning his Eagle Scout
3. Jason starting in Man of La Mancha and Sound of Music
4. Noelle getting baptized (Yes, it will be in 2009)
5. Katie going to girls camp for the first time
6. Bella (our new dog) learning to sit, stay, and not jump on people
7. Not wear an air cast boot
8. Reading the Book of Mormon another time
9. Jonathan, Angie, Arya, Landon, Kris, JoAnn, Mom, and Dad coming to visit me this month. YEAH!!!!

I wish you all a very Happy New Year. I hope that all of your dreams come true. Oh I forgot one thing. President-Elect Obama giving me a bail out also!
